This work is the second iteration of its kind produced for Micro-(bial) Tenancies, curated by Abbra Kotlarczyk for BLINDSIDE Gallery’s 2020 Emerging Curator Mentorship program, under guidance of Kyla McFarlane. Micro-(bial) Tenancies was conceived as a multi-platform project presented online at microbialtenant.net and on-site at BLINDSIDE Gallery, Naarm/Melbourne, December 2020 ~ March 2021.

Micröbius Tract(ion) is designed to be folded into a möbius loop. Holding the print lengthwise, make a loop, then twist it once, so there is one continuous surface. Join the narrow edges together with tape, stickers, glue, clips or pins.

Project participants: Amy Jane Parker, Beth Sometimes, Brighid Fitzgerald, Debris Facility Pty Ltd, Isadora Vaughan, Kate Hill, Sarita Gálvez, Stefanie Hessler + Diana Policarpo & Jenna Sutela.

This project was developed on the stolen lands of the Woiworung, Gadubanud and Gundungurra peoples. Sovereignty has never been ceded. We offer deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
